CITATION:

Mr. Guy Hardwick is an accomplished and respected industry leader who has long recognized the value of active participation in professional organizations. He has been actively engaged in the development of national and international standards for the marine industry and he actively promotes participation in technical meetings.  His continuity of involvement in a leadership capacity in the Central Gulf Coast Section has been the glue which has held the section together for many years; and his positive, proactive leadership was instrumental in its post-Katrina reconstitution. He has served two consecutive terms as the Section Chairman, and four terms as Section Secretary.

Mr. Hardwick’s support of ASNE extends beyond his own section.  Since becoming a member of the Society, he has attended every ASNE Day, and numerous Society sponsored symposia both as a participant and an exhibitor.  He has served on national committees and has helped to organize countless ASNE symposia and he supports ASNE events by personally promoting them as well as encouraging his company to actively participate both in the technical and exhibition portions of the symposia.

Mr. Hardwick is an exemplary leader who clearly demonstrates the value a committed volunteer can provide to ASNE and to the naval engineering profession through dedicated and energetic service.  Based on his past and continuing service to the Society and its membership, he is clearly most deserving of the Society’s 2008 Frank G. Law Award.
