WELCOME

Whether developing a complex weapon system or designing a car loaded with digital “extras,” Human Systems Integration (HSI) must be embraced in the earliest design and development phases of any program…to ensure that efficiencies and effectiveness are organically integrated...to achieve long-term success and customer satisfaction…to guarantee system safety and operator effectiveness…and so much more.

HSI applies throughout government, industry and academia, and is fundamental to system success across the board––impacting total ownership cost, workload, manning, training, operational and maintenance concepts, safety and especially the “human element” in system design that ultimately affects system performance.

Getting the human element “right” in the total system-engineering equation demands an integrated engineering perspective and process that produce results greater than the sum of the individual parts.  The human is the critical integer that completes the total system package and makes the performance equation of “2+2=22!” a reality.

Join us at the 2009 Human Systems Integration Symposium as we bring together government, industry, and academic experts to address:

Who, what, where, when, why, and how to gain

order of magnitude improvement

with HSI

HSIS 2009 will be held at the Loews Annapolis Hotel, Annapolis, Maryland.  Jointly sponsored by the American Society of Naval Engineers and the Human Factors Ergonomic Society.  Building on the broad successes of HSIS events since 2001, HSIS 2009 is a “must-attend” for anyone who wants to learn more about the value of HSI, how and when to apply HSI concepts, and successful implementations of HSI activities.
